Forum Overview

About NFESD:

The National Forum for Environment and Sustainable Development (NFESD) is a Yemeni civil, non-governmental, non-profit organization that was established in Yemen in 2021. The forum is  working in areas related to the environment, sustainable development in Yemen .

NFESD seeks to raise awareness about the concepts of the environment and  sustainable Development , the concepts of civil peace, as well as human rights in a clean and safe environment, as well as raising the level of awareness about the social responsibility of companies, institutions, and organizations  as well as promoting the 2030 agenda of the United Nations .

NFESD seeks to achieve its objectives by supporting and implementing environmental interventions , projects and activities, as well as advisory services, implementing training programs and specialized workshops, as well as organizing forums and conferences specialized in the fields of environment, climate change, social responsibility on the environment, sustainable development, empowering women, raising their capabilities, and applications of justice and human rights Yemen.

NFESD seeks to  build the capacities of all organizations and institutions to make their practices and activities environmentally friendly, responsible, and compatible with sustainable development standards, and to reduce heat emissions.NFESD works on carrying out specialized research and studies, in addition to issuing various periodicals and publications on environmental issues , climate change and Sustinable Development

Our Principles

  1. Consolidating the idea of the responsibility of companies, organizations, and businessmen towards preserving the environment and reducing heat emissions, as a new principle in planning and working away from the abstract material meaning and the idea of profit.
  2. Highlight every activity that aims to provide assistance or contribute to social or environmental life in the region, give it the media right it deserves, and urge others to emulate it.
  3. Reducing, as much as possible, the human suffering resulting from climate change, getting close to society and strengthening the ties between its members, and preserving the public arena and the environment.
  4. Work on building relationships between donor institutions, implementing institutions, as well as beneficiary groups in society to face the emergency effects of climate change in accordance with professional standards.
  5. Providing all the required consultations for non-profit organizations, companies, and private institutions to provide environmental, community, and institutional initiatives that take into account the goals of the United Nations 2030 in the environment and climate change.

Our Goals

  • Rraising Awareness : Introducing and raising awareness of the concepts and values of sustainable development in its comprehensiveness with the specificity of the environment and its importance and its relationship to all goals in a way that enhances the culture and environmental development practices and creates a strong and supportive public opinion for this culture.
  • Building The Capacities : Building the capacities of civil society organizations, government officials, the media, the private sector, and societal frameworks in sustainable development, the environment, and its applications.
  • Working in effective development : Working in effective development and strategic partnership with stakeholders from official authorities, civil society, the media, the private sector, community frameworks, and international and international organizations working in the environment and sustainable development
  • Consolidate efforts : Consolidate efforts and coordinate interventions through networking, information exchange, and establishment of entities to achieve maximizing impact and Work with all partners and stakeholders to ensure that public policies and development plans respond to the goals of sustainable development inclusiveness and environmental development in particular and
  • Activating the oversight role : Activating the oversight role of local communities and civil society organizations and enhancing their participation in sustainable development and the environment
