Youth Climate Conference” in Al-Mukalla.
The National Forum for Environment and Sustainable Development has blessed the success of the Yemeni Youth Climate Conference, which was held in the city of Al-Mukalla last Saturday, with the participation of researchers, specialists, and young people interested in environmental and climate issues, in addition to representatives of government and civil agencies and civil society organizations, with the aim of developing an ambitious agenda to address climate change challenges in Yemen.
The Al-Mukalla conference event is part of a series of conferences that will be held in the coming period in the capital, Sana’a, and also online, organized by the Saha initiative and local partners, including the Justice Foundation for Legal Development and the Green Sustainable Future Foundation in Al-Mukalla, the National Forum for Environment and Sustainable Development, and others. The outputs of these conferences will be compiled to be presented in a number of international forums and events.
According to the Saha platform, the holding of the “Yemeni Youth Climate Conference” events comes within the partnership program between it as a platform and the Dutch WATGP network, as part of the “Global Youth Agenda” project, and under the supervision of “Youth and Environment Europe”.
The outputs of the Al-Mukalla conference emphasized the importance of involving young people in formulating policies and strategies related to climate change, to ensure the representation of their needs and the priorities they see as appropriate to address these challenges in Yemen.
