Session Six “The Role of Youth in Climate Action” in the Sixth Session of the Qualification Program

 


As part of the comprehensive training program to qualify youth for climate work (2024), the sixth session was held on June 10, focusing on “The Role of Youth in Climate Action,” with environmental activist Engineer Zahra Abu Taha.

The session emphasized the vital role of youth in addressing the challenges of climate change and how they can be a driving force for positive change and environmental sustainability.

Engineer Abu Taha presented strategies and tools that youth can use to positively impact climate action, urging governments and environmental organizations to empower young people, as they are the most effective group capable of bringing about real change.

The session provided an opportunity for participants to discuss ideas and share experiences, highlighting the challenges and barriers facing youth participation in climate action in our region. Engineer Abu Taha offered a range of solutions and initiatives that youth should adopt to overcome these obstacles.

The comprehensive program to qualify youth for climate work (2024), launched by the National Forum for Environment and Sustainable Development in partnership with Jerash University in Jordan, the Arab Youth Network for Sustainable Development, and the Aman Initiative in Jordan, is the first training program of its kind in the Arab arena.
