Magnitude 4.6 Earthquake Strikes Gulf of AdenA mild earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale shook the Gulf of Aden earlier today.

Initial reports from the National Seismic Monitoring Center indicate that the quake’s epicenter was located approximately 130 kilometers off the Somali coast.

The tremor was lightly felt by some residents along nearby coastal areas, with no casualties or property damage reported. Experts link the repeated seismic activity in the region to the proximity of an active geological fault line.
